Crissa Franceschina says Ingrid Lyne met John Robert Charlton, 37, on a dating site and she had told friends about their upcoming date to a Seattle Mariners baseball game last Friday.
“There was some trust involved obviously [between] her and him,” Franceschina says.
Following her divorce from the father of her three daughters in 2014, she began looking for romance online in her scare free time.
“She was busy working and was kind of dating off and on,” Lyne’s friend says.
The 26-year-old man, from Winterton, met the woman on an online dating site and Facebook. Other online dating sites, like Plenty of Fish, provide safety tips on their websites.
Franceschina tells PEOPLE that Lyne’s ex-husband is taking care of his daughters with the help of family members.
She says the community has come together to support the family.
Franceschina says Lyne didn’t tell her a lot about Charlton, but she believes they had been seeing each other for six to eight weeks.
Lyne was a devoted single mother who was focused on children and her career as a nurse at Swedish Medical Center, Franceschina tells PEOPLE.• Police found a 15-inch pruning saw and pieces of flesh inside Lyne’s home outside Seattle – as well as plastic garbage bags similar to those in which Lyne’s remains were found, according to court documents.
